While I have used computers since 1966, used personal
computers since 1981, have been on the internet since 1985
(before the World Wide Web [the www. in almost every web
address]) and had a web-site for my practice since 1989, I have
learned a lot over the past few years that has boosted the
number of visitors to my website. More importantly, my work on
my website had dramatically increased the number of visitors
from my web site who become patients for the dental care I and
my staff provide.

It is crucial that before one
goes on a trip into territory that one has not gone before,
that they have a guide and a set of goals. In normal
travel, there are options: You could
1 - read guide books
about the places planned,
2 - consult travel agents for advice,
3 - sign up for an all-inclusive
package, or
4 - hire a guide to take you each
step of the way.

Others need a step-by-step guide to registering a name on the
internet and options for having the web site hosted on a
computer called a server, which is generally run by an Internet
Service such as GoDaddy, Hostgator, etc.
More advanced
entrepreneurs will need to improve their techniques of writing
great copy with the goal to get the reader to take some action
that generates business -- provide an email and name to build a
list, order something online, call the business to get more
information or make an appointment or place an
order.
Graphics, audios and videos,
articles, reports and eBooks are important to enhance the
effectiveness of your site.
The topics of Search Engine
submission and optimization (SEO), Traffic Generation,
Affiliate Marketing, Joint Ventures (JV) are very powerful and
make the difference of thousands of visitors and sales between
mediocre sites (that are not much more than on-line info
brochures for the business) or successful sites (that
generate other streams of business and profit) and highly
successful sites that do all of the above with little effort
but with 10 or 100 or 1000 times the rewards.
All of these skills
and this information can be learned and the learning
curve can be accelerated in speed and lessened in difficulty
with the right tools, right info and a little
guidance.
3) The Third approach
is to outsource all (or part) of this and have someone do it

1) Assist Dentists, Physicians, Surgeons, Chiropractors and
others in businesses outside the Healthcare Industry to
increase their use of the internet, to boast their business and
increase their profits. The internet is a fast-evoling
environment which has fascinated me long before the
World-Wide-Web was added (orginally it was only for email and
file sharing via FTP and bulletin boards). With the Evolution
to Web 2.0 with Rich Media and Social Networking, a new
dimension has been added.
2) Share the tools that have worked for me to accomplish my
goals above, so others do not have to struggle with multiple
learning curves and road blocks.
3) Monetize this website to help with my three children's
tuition bills. Some of the products I will talk about are ones
that I have used and feel would help others. If the company has
an affiliate program, I have used that link to promote the
product on an affiliate basis. If I have not used the program,
I will not promote it, or I will disclose that fact.
